John Hardin High School defensive tackle Matt Elam fell 12 spots to No. 21 in the final national player rankings for 247Sports.com.
Elam, who is considering Kentucky and Alabama, UK signee Drew Barker, of Conner High School, and Seneca defensive end Lloyd Tubman, who is committed to Penn State, are the only Kentuckians in that site’s list of the top 247 seniors.
Barker, who had nice performance at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, is up four spots to No. 109.
Tubman is down four spots to No. 224.
Barker is the only UK commitment in the top 247, and the University of Louisville has no ranked commitments. One player who recently withdrew a pledges to U of L, wide receiver Isaiah Ford of Jacksonville, Fla., debuted in the rankings at No. 195.
Ford is still considering U of L, along with Virginia Tech, Florida and South Carolina. Tubman is still fairly solid in his new pledge to Penn State and coach James Franklin but may still take official visits to UK and U of L.
Elam had been expected to commit to UK or Alabama at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Jan. 4, but he postponed the decision to national signing day on Feb. 5. On Tuesday, some of Elam’s apparel from the Army game showed up for sale on eBay, but the man selling the items canceled the auction after regretting that he’d posted them for sale without Elam’s permission. He said Elam gave them to him for free as a gift and didn’t know he had any intention of selling.
